Aims

Its remit will include research on the subject of OIS, the development of methods as well as training and services for scientific community and society. Example applications are crowdsourcing to generate new research questions, and technological competence leveraging to identify new areas of application for successful technologies that are already available. The results from the OIS Center will feed directly into the research institutes of the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft and will subsequently be offered externally.

The OIS Center of the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft will be led by Lucia Malfent (operational direction) and Marion Poetz (scientific direction) and will be based in Vienna.

The Center will have an initial staff of eight working for it. The budget amounts to a total of two million euros over a period of three years. The OIS Center is being funded by the Austrian Nationalstiftung für Forschung, Technologie und Entwicklung (National Foundation for Research, Technology and Development). Partner is the Copenhagen Business School.
